A server room doesn't need to be complex to be reliable — it needs the fundamentals done properly.
Racks and layout
Size racks for current equipment plus growth, and lay out for airflow — ideally hot-aisle/cold-aisle so hot exhaust isn't pulled back into intakes.
Power and UPS
- UPS sized for the load with runtime to ride through outages or start the generator.
- Clean power distribution to the racks with proper protection.
- Consider standby generator changeover (ATS/AMF) for critical rooms.
Cooling
IT equipment rejects heat continuously. Provide dedicated cooling with enough capacity and redundancy so a single failure doesn't shut the room down.
Cabling and protection
Structured cabling, labelled patch panels, and fire detection/suppression suited to an equipment room round out a dependable build.
NIXCO supplies and installs racks, UPS, structured cabling and network hardware — and can integrate fire detection for the room.
